The primary goal in chess is to strategically corner the opponent's king into an unavoidable capture threat, a tactic commonly known as checkmate. Players maneuver their pieces strategically to attack and capture their adversary's units while reinforcing their own position on the board. Gameplay often revolves around trading pieces and creating advantageous exchanges to secure a winning position or force a draw when necessary.
